Anna-Laura brings her inspiring original character to life off the page

Anna-Laura Sullivan has built a strong community around her storytelling, offering a sense of comfort and inspiration through her illustrations. Her work focuses on courage, resilience, and hope, and millions of people see a reflection of their own dreams and struggles in her art and original characters.

Now, Anna-Laura has brought one of those characters off the page with her first plush toy. The warrior bunny has made an appearance in several of the watercolour comics that Anna-Laura shares online, and embodies a spirit of endurance through tough times. As a plush toy, the warrior bunny can now serve as a companion and protective presence in the real world.

Anna-Laura entrusted Canadian merchandise partner Juniper Creates with faithfully adapting the illustrated character. The plush toy comes with a belt and sheath with removable sword, as well as an original mini comic illustrated by Anna-Laura.

In her announcement on Instagram, Anna-Laura revealed the character’s name for the first time. “I think I’ve decided to name her Grit. I intentionally don’t name my characters, but there’s something about her presence I can’t deny.”

The plush is being released alongside the “My Hero” half-zip sweater designed in the same spirit of inner strength. Both products are available on Anna-Laura’s shop until January 10.
