Designed for three to eight players, the game challenges participants to craft clever answers with prompts on cards divided into eight categories. Players might invent a fake fact, create an acronym, write a poem, draw a response, or take a chance on a mystery grab bag. A designated host rolls a die, selects a card, and collects everyone’s answers in 60 seconds. The host can choose their favorite response, or the group can vote on the winner. At the end of the game, the player with the most selected answers is declared the champion.
Since 2015, the series has seen Douglass inviting friends and fellow creators to respond to a variety of prompts, creating a unique community-driven humour that the board game carries forward into homes and friend groups.
Produced in collaboration with Canadian merchandise partner Juniper Creates, the team spent months designing and testing the game pieces and crafting thousands of prompts, eventually narrowing them down to the 400 cards included in the core game. “We wanted the questions to be framed so they could be answered normally or in a ridiculous way,” said Brandon Lewis, who worked closely with Douglass to guide the project from Juniper’s side. “Our goal was to encourage competition and make the game personal to any group that plays it.”
The Kickstarter campaign is live until December 1, and is expected to ship in March. An expansion pack is available at higher pledges. Other perks include getting your own official card in the game, or a private game with Jack over Zoom.
