Juniper Creates celebrates creative teams with retro varsity-inspired collection

LifestyleVarsity style is unique in that it carries a sense of belonging while offering space for personal expression. Of course, the style stems from school sports and showing pride for your team. It’s also a canvas for individuality, as people often adorn their varsity gear with patches representing their interests, affiliations, and experiences.

It’s in this spirit that Juniper Creates designed its 2023 capsule. The Canadian merchandise company produced the Creative Club collection to celebrate its own team of creatives and the community of partners that they produce merchandise for.

The line features a thick cotton crewneck with a subtle acid wash texture seen on many varsity jackets. A chenille embroidered “Juniper” script pays homage to classic baseball graphics. Like varsity jackets, it can be paired with sweatpants for a casual look or layered over button-downs for a more Ivy-inspired outfit.

Continuing the academia association is a woven tapestry blanket that would look at home in an Ivy common room. The blanket doubles as a Snakes & Ladders board, with the checkerboard recalling a pattern often seen on varsity apparel. The game’s die and playing pieces are plush toys featuring chenille embroidery, another reference to varsity patches and also a playful nod to the hundreds of plush toys Juniper has designed for partners over the years.
