Lackadaisy launches character plush toys to crowdfund animated series

At the core of the campaign offerings are character plush toys of fan-favourites Rocky Rickaby and Mordecai Heller. Created in partnership with Canadian merchandise company Juniper Creates, each plush toy captures the personality of its animated counterpart, complete with period-inspired outfits and miniature accessories like spectacles, suspenders, and watch chains.
Iron Circus framed the campaign as a way to bring more of their art to fans without compromise. “Traditionally, the only studios that can afford to produce entire animated series have been tied in some way to large corporations; large corporations that finance productions in return for control and copyright,” the studio wrote on BackerKit. “We feel we’ve come to the fore at a potentially critical moment for the future of independent animation.”
The campaign gives fans a tangible way to connect with the Lackadaisy universe while supporting its next chapter. Backers can also access hardcover editions of the webcomics, jumbo enamel pins, and even a cameo in a future episode. The BackerKit campaign is live through August 24.
